Arthur's - Hyde Park

I eat beef about once every six months.  And when I do, it's usually covered in cheese, mustard and stuck between two sesame buns.   There's nothing better than the perfect cheeseburger.   It took two stops, but I've found the best cheeseburger in Cincinnati.   Many in the city believe that the best burger is at Zips in Mt. Lookout.  Zips is great.  Cute little place, but the burgers taste like something you would get at Wendy's.  No, the best cheeseburger in the city is at Arthur's in Hyde Park.   Arthur's looks like an old saloon/bar with the pressed tin ceilings, a long wooden bar and lots of tables stuck way to close to each other.  On Thursday nights you can get a cheeseburger and fries (or if you are sans-fried like me, fruit) for only $6.  And a beer is a only $2.50.  That's the perfect meal, in the perfect location for $11 after tax and tip. 

I had the black and blue burger.  It's a patty of sirloin, rolled in spicy seasoning, cooked and topped with a scoop of blue cheese.  This is one seriously good cheeseburger.   I can think of only two other cheeseburgers in the history of my eating existence that even come close to something as craveable as the Arthur's burger:  1) Dotty's burger in Madison.  2) Blackie's burger in Chicago.  But honestly, both Dotty's and Blackies are victims of the too much beef problem.  About half way through the burger the meat becomes overwhelming (that's what she said) and you end up taking the patty out and eating all the tasty stuff between the buns (that's what he said).  

Ok B, you are just being silly now.  Quit with the innuendos and get back to the b-log. 

The point is that Arthur's burgers have the perfect balance of bun, beef and toppings.  It's burger heaven. 

So while I very rarely ever go out specifically for cheeseburgers; Arthurs, particularly on Tuesday nights, could change all of that.
